Fire Prevention

One of the most important goals of the Lambertville Fire Department is the prevention of fires. Throughout the year, the fire department provides fire prevention education to the local schools, businesses, and residents of Lambertville.

In October of each year the fire department invites the community out for a fire prevention night, which includes training, education, and several fun activities for all involved.

Fire Prevention Tips

Did you know that it is recommended to change your smoke detector batteries once every six (6) months?

  • Each year while you are preforming your spring cleaning, it is recommended to clean the vents for your clothes dry. As a build up of lint can cause, and lead to the rapid spread of fire.
  • When you use candles be sure to place them on a sturdy surface that is clear from any flammable materials, and never leave them unattended.
  • Never place a barbecue grille on a porch, deck, or near an over hang, as the heat can cause combustibles to ignite and rapidly spread.
